Create
Linkages with existing vocational programs
High schools, vocational-technical centers, and community colleges
throughout Arizona already have excellent vocational programs in
construction. APCC encourages those schools to utilize the curriculum form
the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). We
assist these schools in certifying their instructors to use the NCCER
curriculum and in accrediting their program as a NCCER training
unit. We also link these schools with contractors to help them improve the
quality of their programs and provide employment opportunities for their
students

Promote
construction careers to
younger students
Students typically make career choices, or at least
eliminate careers from further consideration, well before they enter high
school. By providing career information to students in elementary, middle
and junior high schools, we can help create a positive image for the
construction industry and stimulate students' interests in a career they may
not have otherwise considered. APCC supports a variety of career programs
and activities, including the National Construction Careers Teleconference,
sponsored by the NCCER.

Promote
all careers in the construction industry
Through partnerships with
community college and university programs in construction, APCC promotes the
full range of career opportunities in the industry so that students are
introduced to craft, technical, administrative and professionals careers,
including engineering.
